PILC Re-Start Plans
Please click on the link above to see a detailed account of our re-opening plans for the 2020-2021 school year.
Also as recommended by the BC Centre for Disease Control we are asking that all students and staff perform a daily health check before coming to school.

Registration and Re-Opening
We are excited to be able to carefully re-open Penelakut Island Learning Centre. We have been working together to create the safest options for re-opening. In order to finalize our re-opening plans we ask that registrations for grades 10-12 are done as soon as possible.
Due to physical space limitations it may be necessary to reduce the number of individuals within PILC at any given time to ensure that physical distance can be maintained when required. PILC will continue to prioritize the attendance of students who most benefit from in-person support and learners with diverse needs, as well as consider alternative learning modalities and off-campus learning
Classes will be structured in small groups, and as such student schedules will be modified to meet the physical spacing requirements. This means the student may have spares and be allowed to leave the premises. Students with diverse needs will be accommodated with a full-day program unless parents request an alternative schedule.
Extra health and safety measures, like handwashing/hand sanitizing stations, masks, daily health screens, and increased cleaning, will be done to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and help keep our school safe. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Mental Health Week
Mental Health Week is May 4-10th and this year, mental health awareness is more important than ever in light of the transition for many students to a remote learning environment.
Here are a few resources from the Ministry of Education to support students and parents during this time.
